Electric trail bike newest Queenstown attraction

Ever heard of a dual electric drive trail bike?

It’s Queenstown’s newest tourist attraction being used by Real Journey’s as for an off-road adventure at Walter Peak.

Real Journeys was the first company to provide a fleet of the brand new Ubco 2×2 bikes as part of a tourism attraction.

Real Journeys commercial director Tony McQuilkin said they were chosen for their functionality, innovation, lack of noise, eco-friendly design and how simple they were to use.

“These bikes are the way of the future. There’s no noise, no internal combustion engine, no petrol tank, muffler, chain or clutch. But importantly for us they’re incredibly fun and easy to ride and are a great way to enjoy the back country hills and magnificent views at Walter Peak,” McQuilkin said.

A Walter Peak Electric Trail Bike trip takes three and a half hours and starts with a ride across Lake Wakatipu on the TSS Earnslaw. Groups of up to 12 would join a nature guide to travel around the paddocks and hills around the farm.

“The uninterrupted views are spectacular,” McQuilkin said.

Trips and tours on the bikes started on Thursday.
